A Few of My Favorite Things

29 04 2008

Chris started his new job a week ago and I like it already. :) Along with a nice pay increase, he is working from home 3 days a week.  Sweet deal!  We save gas money and get to see him more. :D

Makua in the mornings is the best (as some can attest to).  Unfortunately, Makua picked up on my childhood habit of waking up early.  I guess you could say I was a morning person.  It seems Makua is the same way.  Over time, however, I’ve lost the enjoyment in the early hours of the morning, but I love being with Makua in the morning.  He’s so happy!  I love it! :D

I love Makua’s “kisses.” It’s more of a berzert or raspberry or whatever you call it. He’ll put his mouth on my cheek and then blow. It makes me laugh.

The weather today was absolutely fabulous. Not too hot. Not too cold. Lovely.

Free stuff! Who doesn’t like free stuff?  I went a little crazy with this website and get tons of free magazines. It’s like a present in the mail. I do get odd ones like Islands or Spa Magazine, but my current favorites are Better Homes & Gardens and Parents.  A year subscription for both of those- free!  Woot!  :D

What’s for Dinner?

PF: War Wounds

25 04 2008

Chris introduced me to mountain biking when we were dating.  While I admit it can be fun, I hate biking uphill which is unavoidable when you’re on a mountain (duh).  Wait- I take that back.  I hate biking up steep hills.  I can handle gradual inclines a bit better, but what mountain inclines gradually?  Not many.

Anyway, the Jardine Juniper trail up Logan Canyon is one of Chris’ favorites.  So one Saturday we decided to head up there.  I am a slow mountain biker.  I frequently do this:

Chris, being impatient, decides to bike up the rest of the way as we get to the end of the trail, leaving me to fend for inexperienced self. It ended up being a little sandy at the top and, uh, yeah- down the side of the mountain I went. I didn’t endo. Endo implies flying over the handle bars. I somehow managed to fall sideways and remained attached to the bike as it rolled down the hill. Did I mention I was attached to the bike as it rolled down the hill? Just checking.  I think that was one of my worst wrecks ever. I may have even cried.

Without further ado- ::drumroll::- I give you my pitiful war wounds.
